L’Institut Français de Finlande soutient la venue à Helsinki du Professeur Jean-Marc Guehl, directeur de l’Unité Mixte de Recherche de l’INRA « Forest Ecology and Ecophysiology » et ancien directeur du Meta-program de l’INRA : Adapting Agriculture and Forests to Climate Change (ACCAF). Il interviendra lors du séminaire public sur le rôle des forêts dans la lutte contre le réchauffement climatique, coorganisé également par les Ambassades de France, d’Allemagne et du Royaume-Uni en Finlande, le centre finlandais pour l’Environement Syke et le conseil de recherche stratégique de Finlande dans le cadre de la Climate Diplomacy Week.

After Paris : burden-sharing and the role of forestry in climate change mitigation

The seminar in Helsinki is part of the worldwide Climate Diplomacy Week from 12th to 18th September 2016. The topic of burden-sharing in the EU after the Paris agreement and the role of forests in mitigating climate change will be key issues for further climate negotiations.
Minister of Agriculture and the Environment, Kimmo Tiilikainen, will open the seminar. Experts from Finland, France, Germany and the United Kingdom will offer their perspectives, followed by a panel discussion.
