The French Institute supports “The WORLD NGO DAY 2014 FORUM” which will take place in Helsinki on February 27th-28th.
For the first time this international forum takes place in Finland, because of Finland’s unique position within the international community – a shining example of leading the way for worldwide change by empowering NGOs and civil society as part of UN’s post-2015 agenda. This event will be about “Health and Social Welfare”, “Universal Education”, “Children and Youth Empowerment” and “Gender Equality”. Many important people are due to participate to this event as Mr. Pekka Haavisto (Minister for International Development of Finland), Ms. Britt Bohlin (The newly elected Secretary General of the Secretariat to the Nordic Council), Mr. Jan Mattsson (the Executive Director of UNOPS), and also Mr. Eric Falt (Assistant Director-General of UNESCO), Ms. Helen Clark (Administrator of United Nations Development Programme), and Former Prime Minister of New Zealand. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, the Nordic Council, the European Commissioner for Development and many other NGO leaders – support the World NGO Day too.
