The movie Angel of the North by Jean-Michel Roux is the first movie ever made in Finnish by a French director. The movie is nominated in the Best Documentary category at the Jussi 2018 (Finnish Oscars ceremony).

Angel of the North is an investigation into the Finnish soul, its imagination, its personal and collective subconscious. A simple question on the signification of Hugo Simberg’s painting becomes a nordic portrait opening the doors of the imagination of the Finnish people and the audience.

To celebrate this nomination, the screening will be followed by a discussion with the director
Jean-Michel Roux and a cocktail.
