La Nuit des Idées – Night of Ideas is an international cultural event organized by the Institut français. The first event took place in Paris in 2016. In 2017, it was organized simultaneously in more than 30 cities in the world, including Helsinki for the first time. All cities gathered around the same theme: “A World in Common”, explored in all its variety by artists, experts, journalists and researchers.

Held by the French Institute of Finland once again, the second Nuit des Idées (Night of Ideas) in Finland will be taking place on the 25th of January 2018 in Helsinki. The programme of the Nuit des Idées in Helsinki will this year also offer a circuit composed of four distinct events, held within the Institute or in neighboring partner locations in the heart of the city, revolving around this year’s theme: “L’imagination au pouvoir / Power to the imagination”. This programme will offer documentary film screenings, artistic performances, and panel discussion that will count with the participation of French and Finnish artists, experts and personalities.
