Dear students,

Due to the current state of the global epidemic, Institut français has decided to pursue it’s cultural and linguistic activities in a different way and has set up virtual classes, some of which are already working successfully.

Consequently, from Monday 23rd March your virtual classes will take place on the same day and at the same time as the courses held at the Institute premises, with your respective teachers and this arrangement will last at least 3 weeks.

All our teachers have been trained in this new teaching method and we are sure you will enjoy studying differently.

How does it work? It’s very simple:

You receive an email from your teacher with a link. You click on the link and you have direct access to the virtual class: you will see your teacher and the other participants!

You will need:

1 – On your computer: Chrome or Edge (Microsoft) browser, a webcam and a headset (if your computer does not have one). You can use the Teams program if you have an Office 365 account but it is not a necessity.

2 – On your phone or tablet: open the link, download the Teams app, join the conversation as a guest, or sign in with your Office365 account if you have one.

Plan to prepare your material enough in advance to be ready in time: do not hesitate to email your teacher if you have any difficulties.

In any case, your teacher will explain to you how this new tool works from the first session and will take the time to help you get started with this system.

We are delighted to be able to develop our French teaching with you and we look forward to meeting you starting from next Monday in our virtual class!

Best regards,

Marie-Laure Lions-Olivieri
