Dear parents,

Due to the current state of the global epidemic, Institut français has decided to pursue its cultural and linguistic activities in a different way and has set up virtual classes, some of which are already working successfully.

Consequently, on Saturdays 28th March, 4th April and 18th April your children virtual lessons will take place at the usual hours with Claire. The lessons from 14th and 21st March will be postponed to 30th May and 6th June (7th March is postponed to 23rd May).

All our teachers have been trained in this new teaching method and we are sure your children will enjoy studying differently.

How does it work? It’s very simple:

You receive an email from Claire with a link. Your child clicks on the link and has direct access to the virtual class: she/he will see the teacher and the other participants!

You will need:

1 – On your computer: Chrome or Edge (Microsoft) browser, a webcam and a headset (if your computer does not have one). You can use the Teams program if you have an Office 365 account but it is not a necessity.

2 – On your phone or tablet: open the link, download the Teams app, join the conversation as a guest, or sign in with your Office365 account if you have one.

Plan to prepare the material enough in advance to be ready in time: do not hesitate to email the teacher if you (or your child) have any difficulties.

Anyway, Claire will explain how this new tool works from the first lesson and will help your child get started with this system if necessary.

We are delighted to be able to develop our French teaching with your children and we look forward to meeting them on Saturday 28th March in our virtual class!

Best regards,

Marie-Laure Lions-Olivieri
