With the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women coming tomorrow on November 25, I thought I could talk today about a feminist comic book, Culottées by the artist Pénélope Bagieu.

In her book, she explores the life of fifteen women, who come from all over the world and lived at various periods. Among them, the Mirabal sisters, activists in the Dominican Republic, who were assassinated on November 25, 1960, and whose death the International Day is commemorating. ¨

Fifteen courageous and intelligent women, fifteen creative and free women, whose life is told through beautiful drawings. Even Finland is represented, with a glance on Tove Jansson’s life!

Come and discover their life and action and be inspired by them!
