Papanosh is a young quintet that devours all kinds of styles and forms: jazz, folk, improvation and experimental. Their new album on Enja Records \u2013 Yellow Bird A Very Big Lunch is inspired by Jim Harrison (1937-2016), the American writer best known for his novella Legends of the Fall. Through the excitements and the doubts of the novelist, his love of nature and his vibrant testimony of an American reality, S\u00e9bastien Palis (piano and compositions) has drawn up the lines of an exhilarating score! Papanosh then opened up this songbook, staying true to what brings them closest to Harrison: a voracious appetite!<\/p>\n
The five members of Papanosh are part of the Rouen-based multimedia art collective Les Vibrants D\u00e9fricheurs (\u2018the vibrant pioneers\u2019). In the jazz world, each of them independently has collaborated with an enormous list of more and lesser known artists, including Marc Ribot, Mike Reed, Th\u00e9o Ceccaldi, and Archie Shepp\u2019s Attica Blues Orchestra.<\/p>\n
