This discussion, organized in collaboration with the Science Centre Heureka, will address the artistic, scientific, societal, and legal perspectives on the use of AI in artistic creation:<\/p>\n
Artistic<\/strong>: how do you create art with AI? What part do humans and machines play in this creation? Can we make a living from creating art using AI?<\/p>\n Scientific<\/strong>: ultimately, what is AI? Scientifically, is AI autonomous from human beings? How far can we go?<\/p>\n Societal<\/strong>: should we be afraid of AI; can AI create emotions; could AI one day replace humans?<\/p>\n Legal<\/strong>: AI and intellectual property: how is art created by AI regulated? Who owns the art, given that AI feeds off existing creation…? What is the current state of legislation? Are technological advances outpacing regulations?<\/p>\n Hannu T\u00f6yryl\u00e4,<\/strong> visual artist, media artist and researcher who explores how to use artificial intelligence as an artistic tool, mainly using photographs.<\/p>\n Hannu Toivonen<\/strong>, professor at the University of Helsinki, expert in the fields of data mining, computational creativity, and artificial intelligence<\/p>\n Marion Carr\u00e9<\/strong> and Valentin Schmite<\/strong>, authors of the book “Propos sur l’art et l’Intelligence artificielle”. This book redefines the notion of creativity by asking to what extent machines can be creative.
