General information on the Mistral Boreal 2026 exchange
Mistral Boréal is a school mobility exchange between the Académie of Provence-Alpes-Côte D’Azur (France) and Finland.
Dates:
- For 3 weeks, from 09/26/2026 to 10/17/2026: the Finnish student stays in the Académie de Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
- For 3 weeks, from 10/24/2026 to 11/14/2026: the French student stays in Finland.
General conditions
The exchange of 3 weeks is based on reciprocity and allows French and Finnish high school students to experience a linguistic, cultural, and academic immersion. Each Finnish high school student goes to the high school of his/her French pen pal, attends classes with him/her, and lives with his/her family.
PLEASE NOTE: the Finnish family and the Finnish school must agree to host the French student for 3 weeks.
Conditions
- Be in high school at the time of the exchange (between 15 and 18 years old).
- Have a minimum language level of A2 in English.
- Have a minimum language level of A1 in French.
- Be open-minded, independent, and responsible.
- Must live with their family during the exchange period.
- Have parental consent.
- Submit all required documents on time.

- Starting from 09/08/2025: If one of my students is interested in participating in this program, I click on this link : ➡ MISTRAL BOREAL 2026 to download the necessary application documents.
This link will direct you to two files to download:
- The certificate of acceptance, which needs to be signed by the school principal at my school.
- The parental consent that needs to be signed by the family.
- I fill in the certificate of acceptance,then the school principal at my school has to sign it.
- I send the parental consent and this link to the students’ family:

- I collect the parental consent and the certificate of acceptanceand send them back to mobilite@france.fi BEFORE February, 5th
Calendar:
- Septembrer 8th, 2025: call for applications in France and Finland
- February 5th 2026: application deadline
- From March 9 th, 2026: sending of contacts: the referent teacher will receive the contact of the French teacher. They are responsible for contacting the French teacher to send them their student’s file.
