Finnish schools and universities

University of Helsinki
The University of Helsinki withholds 40,000 students and researchers with a ranking among the best universities worldwide. At FrancoPro, the university will be presenting French studies at as part of the bachelor’s and master’s programs in foreign languages.

University of Jyväskylä
The University of Jyväskylä is home to around 15,000 students and offers a vibrant campus surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. During the FrancoPro exhibition, the university will be presenting the Romance (French) philology studies, which prepare for careers as language specialists and French teachers.

University of Eastern Finland
The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) is based in Kuopio and offers Bachelor’s degree programmes and a great variety of Master’s degree and doctoral programmes. It notably offers online and in-person courses about French language and culture and that are worth 30 ECTS. 

Tampere University
Tampere University is one of the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. It was created in 2019 through a merger between two universities, and today its community consists of about 23,200 students. This institution offers French courses as a secondary subject.

University of Turku
Founded in 1920, the University of Turku hosts 8 faculties and 4 independent institutes. It has around 22,000 students and employs nearly 3,400 staff. Its French department is specialized in training experts in language and communication, and its research ranges from language and communication to the learning and processing of foreign languages.

Åbo Akademi
Åbo Akademi is a Swedish-speaking university located in Turku that offers a human-size study environment for around 5,000 students. It proposes an attractive program with French Language and Literature as the main subject and three specializations adapted to each student’s profile and ambitions: general studies, teaching-oriented studies and an innovative specialization in language and economics.
