The French Institute will participate in Helsinki Design Week!

Get ready to explore French and Finnish design through a mix of tradition and innovation — featuring standout pieces like Jaana Reinikainen’s “Trésor” rug, once displayed at the Élysée Palace.

This autumn, the French Institute of Finland is proud to take part in the 20th edition of Helsinki Design Week!

The year’s theme being Celebration, our exhibition “Dialogue in Design: From Gobelins to Aalto” highlights the dialogue between traditional French craftsmanship and contemporary design innovation — creating a bridge between generations of creators.

The exhibition, organized from September 11 to November 11 at the French Institute’s brand new spaces, will include works by young French designers studying at Aalto University, as well as Jaana Reinikainen’s masterpiece “Trésor”, a rug that was commissioned by the prestigious Mobilier National and notably displayed in President Emmanuel Macron’s office at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

More information about the opening and the exhibition will be published soon!
