Autumn of Languages

The Autumn of Languages 2026 is an initiative created by the French Institute of Finland and the Goethe-Institut Finnland for French and German teachers in the country. It also marks a new chapter in the linguistic and cultural cooperation between the two institutes, which will become neighbours on Tehtaankatu from August 2026 onwards.

Throughout autumn 2026, the institutes will offer a rich and varied programme including themed cafés, film screenings, silent book clubs, and many other events. While the programme is primarily aimed at teachers of French and German, it is also open to anyone learning either of the two languages.

The Autumn of Languages will officially kick off during the Night of the Arts on 20 August at the institutes’ premises on Tehtaankatu.

As part of the programme, the French Institute in Finland will also update existing teaching materials and develop new educational resources to support French teachers in Finland.

Stay tuned – all events and resources of the project will soon be published on this web page!
