Call for Applications: MOPGA 2026 Fellowship Program Now Open

Have you completed your PhD within the past 5 years? Apply for the MOPGA 2026 grant for a 12-month research stay in France focused on climate, environment, and sustainability!

France reaffirms its commitment to global climate and environmental research with the launch of the ninth edition of the Make Our Planet Great Again (MOPGA) program.  

Funded by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and implemented by Campus France, this flagship initiative offers international early-career researchers the opportunity to carry out a 12-month research stay in France. 

The program aims to strengthen scientific contributions to major environmental and climate challenges in line with the Paris Agreement and the themes addressed at the COP conferences. 

 Applicants are invited to propose research projects within one of five priority areas: 

  • Earth system sciences 
  • Climate change and sustainability sciences 
  • Energy transition 
  • Societal challenges related to environmental issues 
  • One Health (human, animal, and environmental health) 

Key dates 

  • Deadline for applications: December 12, 2025 
  • Results announced: May–June 2026 
  • Start of fellowships in France: between September and December 2026 

Each selected researcher will receive a €2,500 monthly allowance, a one-time installation grant, and comprehensive health coverage, under the French Government Scholarship framework.
