Reading Contest 2027

French teachers in Finland: sign your students up for our annual reading aloud contest and encourage them to express themselves in French!

As every year, we’re excited to launch our Reading Aloud Contest for students learning French in Finnish schools. The registrations are now open to all students learning French from classes 1-12 (primary school – upper secondary school)!

This competition runs in two rounds — a remote round, followed by an in-person round for finalists — and gives students a chance to sharpen their foreign-language skills, grow more confident speaking aloud, and discover the richness of French literature.

Each finalist will receive a prize of books suited to their age group and level. The finals will take place in March 2027 at the French Institute (the month and the date are still to be confirmed).

We hope many of you will take part in this event and encourage your students to take on this linguistic and cultural challenge!

1st Grade – Free choice for the first round, maximum 2 minutes 30 seconds reading
