French Film of the Month is back on the big screen!
Join us every month at Cinema Orion for a new French film, starting with Éric Rohmer’s Autumn Tale!
French Film of the Month is back in action! This is your chance to revisit classics on the big screen or discover hidden gems you may have missed when they were first released in movie theatres.
To make a great comeback, the films screened this season will focus on the New Wave, a famous movement that left a forever mark on French and international cinema. Following the success of the screenings of Éric Rohmer’s A Summer’s Tale in July 2025 at Orion, and then again at the Karhupuisto Film Festival in September 2026, we invite you to continue this iconic cycle of the New Wave movement with Autumn Tale (1998) on October 13 at 7:30 pm! In this film, follow the story of Magali, a 45-year-old winegrower, whose family and friends are trying to find her a husband to fill the void left by her children’s departure.
Tickets for this screening will soon be available on Cinema Orion’s website at €12.50. The films are in French subtitled in English. And for fans of this director’s Tales of the Four Seasons series, here’s some good news: the series will be rounded off in December with a screening of A Winter’s Tale (1992).
