French cinema is in the spotlight at the 40th edition of the Midnight Sun Festival, both through the films being screened and the special guests in attendance.
This year’s festival will be a unique opportunity to meet acclaimed directors Alain Guiraudie and Léonor Serraille, as well as renowned actress Dominique Sanda.
Alain Guiraudie’s film Stranger by the Lake (2013), which was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, will be screened during the event.
Léonor Serraille, winner of the Caméra d’Or at Cannes, will also present her latest feature film, Ari (2025).
This edition of the festival will further invite audiences to revisit timeless classics of French cinema, such as The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964) and A Gentle Woman (1969) by Robert Bresson, starring none other than Dominique Sanda.
Tickets and more information are available on the festival’s official website.
