Artist talk: Guarding the Baltic Sea
Join us for an afternoon of artist presentations exploring our relationship with the sea, waterways, and aquatic ecosystems!
Five artists-in-residence participating in the Guarding the Baltic Sea 2026 project will share their artistic practices, research processes, and ongoing work engaged with water bodies. The event offers a unique opportunity to discover how contemporary art can contribute to environmental awareness, generate new forms of knowledge, and open conversations about the challenges and possibilities facing the Baltic Sea region today.
Before the talks, we will begin with an introduction to the Guarding the Baltic Sea project by curators Taru Elfving and Julia Lohmann. After that, the artists will present their work in an open-discussion format.
